# Quickstart

> The fastest path from interested to your first scored evaluation: start a trial, configure a role, invite candidates, and review the report.

## Purpose

Exterview setup is guided, so the path to a first result is short. Here is how a team goes from first look to a first scored evaluation, with a person owning the decision at the end.

## The fastest path to value

<Steps>
  <Step title="Start a trial or a pilot">
    Begin with a free trial, or ask about a guided pilot for a regulated
    rollout. See [Pricing](/pricing/overview) for how trials and plans map to
    your buying process.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Configure your first role">
    A short, CS-led setup captures the role and what a strong candidate looks
    like. You answer in business language; Exterview handles the translation.
    See [Configure](/configure/overview).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add candidates">
    Invite candidates directly. Bringing candidates in automatically from your
    existing ATS is on the roadmap. See [Invite Flows](/deploy/invite-flows).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Run your first evaluation">
    Start with a Resume Match or an AI Phone Screen. The agent runs the session
    and produces one specific report. See [Session
    Types](/deploy/session-types).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review in Monitor">
    Read the report, see the score and the evidence behind it, and make the
    call. Human review always owns the decision. See
    [Monitor](/monitor/overview).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Expand">
    Add modules, departments, and the post-hire loop as you grow. See
    [Enterprise Rollout](/best-practices/enterprise-rollout).
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  The standard path needs no engineering. Teams integrating Exterview into their
  own systems through the API should start with
  [Developers](/api-reference/introduction); note that the API is gated behind
  partner authentication and is not yet generally available.
