Azure

Smaya runs on Microsoft Azure, using Microsoft’s enterprise identity, key management and regional data residency controls.

Microsoft Entra ID

People sign in with the Microsoft account they already have. Access follows your existing directory, groups and conditional access policies.

Microsoft Graph

Smaya works with your organization’s own Microsoft 365 context — calendars, meetings and mail — through Microsoft Graph, with permissions your administrator grants explicitly and can revoke.

Microsoft Teams

Panel and HR interviews run inside Teams, with the conversation captured and scored. Upcoming: a Teams personal app and Agent Inbox cards in Teams.

Microsoft Work IQ

Status: Upcoming. Work IQ is Microsoft’s enterprise context layer — the substrate that unifies an organization’s work data into inputs an agent can reason over. Smaya is designed to be grounded in it: an AI Employee reasoning about your organization uses your organization’s real context, not a generic model’s assumptions. Three commitments govern how we use it, and each exists to protect the customer.

We consume context, we do not export your data

Smaya reads context to ground its reasoning. It does not push your evidence into an external index or memory store.

Never a precondition

No Smaya capability requires Work IQ. Organizations without Microsoft 365 Copilot licensing get the same capabilities through the same governed path. Work IQ enriches; it is never a gate.

Context about the asker, not the assessed

Work IQ context informs the person using the platform. It is never treated as license to build a persistent profile of a candidate or employee being evaluated.

Reachable from the assistants you already use

Available. Exterview runs an MCP server — the Model Context Protocol, an open standard for connecting AI assistants to enterprise systems. Claude, ChatGPT and Microsoft 365 Copilot connect to it and ask your AI Employees questions, or take actions, without anyone leaving the tool they were already in. No MCP tool deletes anything. Every write waits for your confirmation. The dotted path is Upcoming. Slack (Upcoming). Ask an Exterview AI Employee from Slack in a direct message or with an @mention. Scoped to the person asking

An external assistant reaches exactly what that individual could reach directly. The connection does not widen anyone’s access.

Every call recorded

External requests are logged and attributed the same way in-product activity is.

Consent-based

Each connection is made with a person’s own Microsoft sign-in and consent, and write access is granted separately from read.

Confirm before every write

Every write tool waits for your confirmation, and an adverse action shows a preview first. No tool deletes anything.

Systems of record

Smaya is not your system of record. It connects to the HR and applicant systems you already run, reads what it needs, and writes back what you approve. Your HRIS holds the employee; Smaya holds the judgment and the evidence behind it.

No. Copilot licensing unlocks the Copilot surface specifically. Every capability remains available to organizations without it, in Exterview and through the other connected assistants.
The Microsoft path is the deepest, because that is where most of our enterprise customers work. The open protocol surface means any approved assistant can connect on the same governed terms.
No. It reaches what the individual user could reach, under the same permissions and the same audit.
